Retired
I always said that I would keep doing the scarecrow contest until I lost, in the hopes that the competition would step it up and I would be beaten by a better entry. Well... the not winning part came to pass. I've thought about continuing with it but for several reasons, I am done. Partly because of the way things turned out but mostly because of the comment I get several times every year, "I bet your house looks amazing!" The sad truth is, I spent so much time working on my scarecrow that my own home was neglected. Literally almost nothing, so this year I am going to spend that time on my own projects.

Halloween is never over.
Usually after I finish my scarecrow I'm so over it that I stop building until the next year. Something changed this time. I don't want to stop. The following are both 100% paper mache. I've got several ideas in the works and can't wait to get started.

Coming home
I'm sure that my actions will be viewed as that of a sore loser, but it is simply not the case. I am bringing my scarecrow home early because finances are tight and we cannot afford an extra trip to Knoxville, and I worked way too hard on this one to leave it.

Construction info and pics
This years entry is made from 100% recycled/repurposed materials. The pumpkin is paper mache, both strip and clay, the goblin has a heat shaped Hawaiian punch jug as the form for it's body, the rest is paper mache.
